The Rose Hill Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is a network of families, teachers and staff volunteers devoted to the educational success of Rose Hill Elementary School. Together we are a powerful voice for our children. We work as a team to further enrich our children’s school experiences through social events, our enrichment program and fundraising efforts.
The Rose Hill PTA is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit association. Membership in the PTA is open to anyone who wants to be involved and make a difference for the education, health, and welfare of children and youth.
Bylaws and Leadership
The Rose Hill PTA is governed by its bylaws, available as a PDF here.
A dedicated, volunteer board of directors leads our PTA. The board for this school year is:
Steven Carpenter, President
Hailing from Alexandria, Virginia, one of Steven’s goals this year is to have the PTA be involved in more community outreach. His favorite movie is Star Wars and he was most likely found playing kick ball during recess in elementary school.
Dawn Terminella, Vice President of Membership
An Arlington, Virginia native, you’ll see Dawn driving increased membership with teachers and parents. Her favorite film is To Kill a Mockingbird an her favorite memory from grade school was raising chickens and quail from eggs!
Debi Sutton, Vice President of Programs
Debi calls Virginia home. Top priorities include getting more parent volunteers available for the after-school classes, and hoping for more grant funds to be available to have more students from families with financial need be able to participate! Debi loves Star Wars Episode 2 an remembers winning the Halloween Costume contest in 2nd grade for her homemade kitty cat costume!
Kara Jenkins, Treasurer
Omaha, Nebraska can claim Kara as one of their own. An Air Force brat, she handles the money and looks to improve partnerships between teachers and staff along with parents within the PTA (putting the ‘T’ in PTA!) She loves The Mummy (with Brendan Fraser) and remembers playing “King of the Mountain” at the school playground.
Lisa Staresina, Secretary
Lisa joins the crew coming from Las Cruces, New Mexico. She’ll be focusing on two-way communication between parents and the PTA. Her favorite movie is Pride and Prejudice (A & E version!) and her favorite school memories were of field days.
